Tennis Shoes Q's....?
Okay I got some tenny shoe q's:
Why are Tennis Shoes called Tennis Shoes?
Where they originally made for tennis players?
Can you wear any type of tennis shoe to like a pro tennis match, or do they have some sort of cleat shoes?
Thanks @-@
1. The everyday person's 'tennis shoes' are typically actually running, walking, or cross-training shoes. Very few people who would say that they are wearing tennis shoes are actually wearing shoes made for playing tennis.
2. Shoes have been around much longer than tennis has, so i'd have to guess that similar shoes to what we consider tennis shoes existed prior to tennis.
3. Yes and no. You can use any shoe with a non-marking outsole. But there are shoes designed for tennis. They are made to be able to handle the side-to-side movements in tennis. Also, some of the pricier ones have thicker outsoles to make them last longer.
But no cleats. That would ruin a surface very quickly. The closest you get are shoes made for grass courts. They have little round rubber nubs on the bottom to aid in traction.
For more shoe info, check out tenniswarehouse.com, and look at their shoes. Those are true tennis shoes.
