Rules

We at Web Runners are strictly a fantasy club and do not reflect actual rules governed by real racing associations

1. Anyone from the age of 14 and up may be a member. You must be able to keep track of your stables earnings for each year.

2. Each stable (at this time) may run up to 50 horses starting at the age of 2 and no older than 7. Steeplechasers must be 3 years old or older.

3. All horses are 1 year older as of Jan. 1st. We ask that you not keep a horse actively breeding after the age of 15 even though horses can live to be in their 30's or older. Because we have a limited amount of file space and a lot of horses coming up, we will need to have some space available. You don't have to kill them off but they will be automatically retired from breeding at the age of 15.

4. Due to the fact that the Studbook is closed, only horses rolled by the Racing Steward or horses purchased from other owners may be used for racing. No original horses other than those bred from the established bloodlines will be used. A horse must be registered in the studbook to be allowed to race. Members may name their new foals but names of famous horses such as Alydar, Man-o-War etc may not be used. Please try to be creative and original in your names. It makes for more fun.

5.The computer determines the official retirement date for each horse. You may retire a horse after he turns 3 by notifying the Racing Steward. Horses may be raced after retirement but will run with a permanent handicap. Mares on retirement will automatically be placed as broodmares but colts can not be used as stallions unless they have won 4 or more stakes and have a bloodline Potential factor of 7 or higher. A list is uploaded at the end of the season with all retirement age horses and any colts that have met stallion requirement.

6. If a member is not heard from in over a month after joining ,the Steward will try to contact them. If nothing is heard after two months the stable will be dropped and the horses given to someone else on the list. We do ask that you try to enter at least a race a month to keep your stable active. During the time a member is active, they may do what ever they wish with their horses i.e. sale, breed or kill them off if so desired.

7. Horses will be rolled up using the Stretch Drive program developed by Charles Schultz of MA

8. The common colors are Bay (blood, dark, blackbay, Mahogany), Chestnut (light, red, dark and Liver), Roan (blue, red and strawberry and gray...Gray roans are born chestnut or bay and turn gray with age. Gray, Black, Brown and on very rare occasions, white, are acceptable colors. No other, such as Buckskin, Palomino, Pinto or Appaloosa, will be accepted.

9. Races will be held weekly.

10. Races will run from January until end of Oct. The weeks of November will be for the Championships.

11. A list of coming 2 year olds will be available for auction in Nov. but members may sell and buy animals at anytime. Older horses may be listed as for sale at anytime.

12. A racing schedule will be uploaded to the webpage. Members may choose which races they would like to enter their horses in. Entries must be to the race secretary no later than Saturday noon before the race is to be run so that a pre-race card may be posted. Races will be posted Monday or Tuesday night unless a major problem develops. If there should be a scheduling problem occur, the members will be notified in advance if possible.
